WATCH OUT ON NJ HIGHWAYS

Rumor has it that n j state troopers are on the prowl to catch you doing something - especially these days - to make money off of your fines. Yesterday, I drove just 30 miles on the Garden State Parkway and saw a total of six police cars just on my side of the road. At least two more on the other side of the road. I know n j is infamous for "giving out speeding tickets like no tomorrow" (as one site put it) but friends, friends of friends and even the driver who took me home a few weeks ago have been getting caught for all sorts of things: expired registration, crossing the lines accidentally... and my driver - he got pulled over for going 60-65 mph in the passing lane for 1 mile straight, not realizing that the police car wanted to pass him.

All you out of staters, be careful :) I warned ya. Jerseyans, just know that the state troopers are kicking it up a notch!

* Side note... NJ was one of the first states to implement no handheld phones while driving. Soon enough we won't be able to text either: http://www.wnbc.com/news/13504749/detail.html *

* Another side note... Have you ever noticed what a full state trooper's uniform looks like? In my humble opinion, the uniform could use an update. Not so bad without the jacket, which is what we're used to seeing. But I'm not a big fan of the long light blue jacket with the strap across the chest and the belt around the middle... I don't know why I even care.*
