PORTER PLUG

I'm sitting in the Porter Lounge munching on my complimentary Oat Cookies and drinking my complimentary orange juice, working off the complimentary Porter Wifi. Whereas I would normally still be going through security for my flight in 45 minutes, I zoomed through security (no lines!), and my flight doesn't board until the minute before the flight. The cab ride to Toronto Centre Airport took 10 minutes and 12 dollars. I am going to take the extra time I have to relax, do some work, and write a post to put in a plug for Porter Airlines.

I've been traveling to Toronto for business for years, and a few years ago someone told me to try Porter. It's a little more expensive and I don't get my Star Alliance miles, so I was stubborn and kept flying in and out of Pearson (YYZ).

What do you get with Porter?
- You fly into the city center. Easy trip to downtown. Just get off the plane, hop onto the ferry, and jump into a cab!
- The plane has 2 seats on the left and 2 seats on the right. It's not as big of a plane as the larger planes that fly into Toronto 2 or 3 times a day, but bigger than the co-partnered little airlines that have only 2 seats on the left and 1 seats on the right.
- Lounge in Toronto with free wifi, coffee, juice, water, soda, and snacks. Lounge and cafe seating with plenty of plugs, and a business center. Everyone's business class!
- Shorter lines. I don't know how they manage to do this, but the lines are not that long ever. Going through immigration was a breeze, though they ask the same amount of questions at the airport.
- You can show up for your flight 30-60 minutes before your flight and be A okay because of all of the above.

I finally tried it. If you know me and how much I love my miles and points, it was hard to fly an airline where I'm never going to get enough points to be VIPorter, and it's not going to help me reach Platinum again this year on Continental or Gold on Star Alliance... It's definitely worth a try. I will do this day trip to Toronto any day.
