DELTA AIRLINES

I’ve noticed something about Delta… My flight from JFK to Dulles was only 46 minutes. But they will say that a flight that departs at 7:55pm is expected to arrive at 9:31pm. That’s a whole 50 minutes extra! Okay, I know that a lot of airlines do pad their departure and arrival times, but on top of that, Delta calls delayed flights – “on schedule” for the delayed time. My flight that was supposed to depart at 7:55pm was delayed until 8:30pm. When you check the flight, it says that the flight is “on schedule” when it should say “delayed.” Our plane did not board until 9:45pm and the status didn’t change. I was sitting in the terminal checking the flight status on my computer.

Comair flies small planes for Delta. If you ever take Comair, check out their seats. The padding in the seat is worn. You basically sit on no padding.

There is another thing that’s not so good about JFK. They fly so many international flights that take priority over domestic flights, so when there are delays, small domestic flights like mine end up sitting on the runway until the go-ahead.

* A recommendation for my fellow Jerseyans: Go with a Continental flight out of Newark if possible.

LESSON LEARNED THE HARD WAY

My first business trip to DC, I drove. It wasn’t too bad, but I didn’t want to do that again alone. My second business trip, I flew. From my posts, you can tell I did not enjoy that option at all. The next time, I will take the train. I will let everyone know I conclude to be the best. My gut is the train is going to win.
