To cut costs, planes are being cleaned less frequently… twice a year for some airlines. Gross.

AIRLINE PARTNERS

I learned something new about airline partners. I don’t know if this applies to ALL airline partner programs, but Continental has Skyteam partners like Northwest. I was checking in for a Northwest Airlines flight and the kiosk was broken, so an agent checked me in. When he asked for my frequent flyer number, I told him I didn’t have my NWA one memorized and if I could give him my Continental Onepass number. He said yes! And when he realized I was an elite member, he said I was smart for keeping my miles all together on one airline (made my day - keke ). My status transferred and I got upgraded to first class. Yeah!

NWA (and others) have an option to type in a frequent flyer number during check-in at the kiosk. But if they don’t (like Delta), you can submit a form with your boarding pass stub and send it in. I’ve done this and Continental, at least, is very good about giving you your well-deserved miles.

* Here’s a tip for all flyers: Choose an airline and keep as many of your miles as possible under one program.
